It has been super quiet on here so far this year. I was wondering if anyone has had to recover from tendonitis (right elbow) and been able to shoot with any regularity? Is there any types of exercises that might help? I have been gimped with this since the beginning of February and it is still bothersome although I have started to get back to doing normal things. 2 months of physio have done a world of good but now I am concerned with possible reoccurance if I start now.

Hey noluck, I have tendonitis in my right elbow and my right shoulder where the bicep muscle attaches. Worst pain I ever felt was when the physiotherapist (cute little thing, she was) worked her fingers down through the muscles and got to the inflamed tendon...YOWZAAAAAA !! Then she started this thing called a 'friction rub' which is meant to break up the scar tissue on the tendon...it's essentially rolling the tendon under her finger tips...supposed to go on for a minute and a half... NUH UHHHHHH !! I would've been in tears !! HOLEEEEE SMOKES...Cute !!!...but MEAN !!!! ;D Lighten the poundage on your bow...you should be fine. By rights, you shouldn't be doing any damage...it's the scarring of an earlier injury that'll be causing it. IMHO...

Thanks Bob. I will try that. As for the digging with their fingers, yeah that hurt pretty bad. Every time it started to feel better they would do that and it would kill me for awhile. But it has been 3 weeks since the physio stopped and it still feels pretty weak, but getting better.

So I tried shooting a few from the recurve. Everything felt great. Even more awesome was that the kids were out with me and they have been going nuts to get back out. They have little plastic bows from the dollar store and are actually taking them to bed with them.

That's good news, noluck ! Don't over do it, though. Just a few arrows here and there until the strength is built up... Taking their bows to bed with them ?1? Waaayyyy cooooollll !!

Well the shooting/practising has been delayed until the middle of august. I had eye surgery on Thursday that has me unable to drive and partially blind in my left eye. The doctor says it will clear up in 6 to 8 weeks and will be as good as before or better. I had a condition that was getting worst and would have lead to the loss of vision but this surgery will correct it so it is a bitter (and painful) pill right now but will payoff in the long run. I am having a few depth perception issues...

My eye is doing better, but it is going to take some time yet. I think I will concentrate on my recurve this year.
