Happy belated new years to everyone! It is pretty crazy right now at our place and I often stare out the window thinking about how great it would be to be out on a bunny bowhunt or checking snares but the noise of life here always snaps me back to reality.
My great aspirations for my 2013 hunting season is to get more hunts in. That is it. Here is a question for those who have been there, when is a good age to introduce kids to archery? And what is the best equipment ?

Happy NY to you, too, noluck!! Holy smokes!!...2013...It'll be gone before we know it!! How's the baby skinning coming along?  I remember changing the diapers on my son...I'd grab him by the ankles (after the new diaper was on) and lift him up..."Skin the rabbit", I'd say...and he'd laugh, and, laugh. Got to the point where, when he was about 2, he'd lay down on the floor and say, "Skin the rabbit, Dad" ...G-a-w-d I miss those days!  As far as bow shooting goes, I'd just say to get a cheap little bow, and let the kids shoot anytime you're shooting. 4, 5, 6 years old...whenever they can pull it back...and just let them shoot. No instruction necessary...reward every 'on-target hit' with praise...and let them progress at their own pace. They'll let you know when they want to upgrade to bigger and better things...and that's when proper instruction should be brought on, IMHO. But it's all just fun to begin with. (All in my humble opinion, of course...) |

Your advice is much appreciated! Tons of diapers to be changed right now. Worst, we are trying potty training for the twins. Oh boy! Can't wait for a little warmer temps to get them outside with me to practise. Funny but I think we wish away so much of our time and then wish we had it back later!

I was in the dollar store this afternoon and picked up 3 little bow and arrow sets. Since we got home they have been running around with the sets in their hands yelling "Bullseye!" Great that they are having fun.
