My nephew was down from Alberta last week and much to my surprise I was told that he had been watching Wildtv with his uncle in Mulgrave and was very interested in what was going on. It was a show about coyote hunting, but I don't know which one. So when he came down here to the south shore I brought him down stairs to my 'fortress of solitude' and showed him a few of my antler mounts (nothing P&Y) and then showed him my different bows and he was completely taken with them. Side note I haven't really thought about the fact that kids will be in my basement room and I had proudly displayed a broken off carbon fiber arrow with the broadhead still attached that I had taken a particularly large doe with on a bookcase that was just at small child hand/eye level. Lesson learned! Anyway, I asked his mom and dad if it was alright if for his next birthday I get him a bow and they said ok. So, he will be 4 and like all Framptons he is not overly tall so far. What should I be looking for? I don't really feel that those small fiberglass bows (Barrett/Bear) are really that nice, much too much like toys. I think that a compound would be a bit too much especially because I don't know how/where they would be able to get it setup for him. Any and all suggests are cool!
Also, I gave him a duck call to keep that I had here (I have tons laying around), apparently he went to the beach and he was blowing into it and making sqeaks and stuff and this hugh flock of black ducks went flying by! He just about pee'd himself with excitement! The wife was with and she said it was odd because she had never seen so many ducks at one time before. But the main thing is that he had that experience and it was fun and exciting for him.
