Well, here it is the last week of the bow season of 2009 and I still have a tag to fill here in 2A. I have to wait until 8 this morning before I can head out because I am on call for work. But i'll be gone as soon as I can be out. For the first time in my 10 years of hunting I will be hunting in the snow! We had a couple of centimeters yesterday and this morning it is hard and crunchy, will make blood trailing easy but still hunting will be a bit noisy. I have passed on deer this year a few times but now I think it is time to get it done if I can. Fingers crossed that work doesn't call. Good luck to anyone who is going out this week.

Thanks HW. I checked out our properties and noticed the number of deer tracks in the snow are way, way down. I left that area and came out to pick up some supplies and head to a different property. Too many rifle shots still being fired back there!

Well, tomorrow is the last day! I worked the last 2 days but went out when I got off work this afternoon even though it was blowing a hoolie. Lots of tracks in the snow over the last two days but nothing moving tonight. Hopefully tomorrow morning brings some good news. I will only be able to be out for a few hours in the morning as the afternoon will be taken up with getting the nursery ready, something I have put off all Fall along with a few other things. I think it is only going to get busier from here on out! Good luck to anyone giving one last try!

Well, I never made it out yesterday at all. It was just a well anyway as it was blowing 50 to 60k and was -8 without the windchill. Good news is we got the kids room cleaned and painted and the crib put together. I hope everyone had a good season and got some good hunting stories to tell. Up next maybe a bunny hunt, once I get a few more things done around here.

I never even got out for deer, bought my license when I got back from Quebec end Oct. Then picked up some flu bug and been watching wild tv ever since! starting to feel better and winter shows up, hopefully there are some bunnies to chase.
Next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
