www.cbc.ca/canada/nova-scotia/story/2009/10/27/ns-coyote-attack.htmlThe power of GOOGLE! 2 coyotes attack N.S. woman Last Updated: Tuesday, October 27, 2009 | 8:54 PM AT Comments43Recommend79CBC News A 19-year-old woman is in serious condition after an attack by two coyotes Tuesday afternoon in Cape Breton Highlands National Park in northern Nova Scotia. Provincial RCMP spokeswoman Sgt. Brigdit Leger said the woman was airlifted to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax for treatment. She described the victim's injuries as "very, very serious." Paul Maynard, a spokesman for Emergency Health Services, said the woman had wounds all over her body. Her hiking partner was not hurt. Cheticamp RCMP said they received a 911 call on Tuesday reporting that a hiker was being attacked by two coyotes on the Skyline Trail. Leger said an RCMP officer happened to be about five minutes from the trail. Mounties said they shot and killed one of the animals that continued to be aggressive. Officials with the Department of Natural Resources said the dead animal is being sent to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency to be tested for rabies. The CFIA has the capacity to test animals for diseases such as rabies, scrapie and West Nile virus. The second coyote escaped into the woods and Parks Canada and RCMP officers were looking for the animal.

Maybe so.It seems odd there were two.You could see one sick one possibly.I can't help but wonder what state she was in when the other group happened along and eventually scared them off by shouting at them-supposedly that's the story anyway.Maybe someone did jump in-you would hope anyway.

I heard they shot one and the the other got away but still on the look out for him ......I say let them all have it . Condolences to the family that has to endure this . What a shame at the age of 19.
