The new X-BOW online hunter safety course has been delayed.
So BIANS is still accomodating those that wish to use them to sit in on the Bowhunter Safety Training to allow hunterS to use them under the GRANDFATHER Clause until 2012.
PROBLEM....... People are not getting the message that X-BOWS are only legal during the General Open Season AKA- RIFLE Season.
I have had 2 people confirmed for the upcoming Bow course that were mis-informed by retailers that sold them expensive fancy new X-Bows this summer. They are not to happy!!! One fellow even pulled himself off the course.
Please pass this info along to anyone you know that is thinking on purchasing one that they CAN NOT use them during the Special Archery ONLY Season. And there are no plans in the works to ever change it.
KEEP BOWHUNTING AND OUR REPUTATION SAFE AND RESPECTED

The online course is up and available - before you can hunt though (unless you qualify to be grandfathered in) it costs about 30 dollars to complete the test and get the certification on your wildlife resource card.

Here's the link for those wishing to take the on-line course. www.hunterexam.com/canada/novascotia/ To be eligible to take this course, you must have either a Hunter Certification (HQ or HT) or a Bow Certification (B) on your Nova Scotia Wildlife Resources Card.
