Hi folks,
I purchased my recurve bow about six months ago and have been practicing diligently in addition to reading some instructional books on instinctive shooting (G. Fred Asbell). I’m having a lot of fun with it and I have made good progress, but I’m at the point where I could use some objective guidance on my technique. I do plan to join a club in the spring, but I was wondering if there is anyone in the Halifax area who provides lessons on traditional bow shooting.

I'm not sure if there is anyone giving lessons but if you haven't already give Phil a call at Phil's Archery in Eastern Passage. He is a Trad guy and has many year at it. I'd bet if you called and asked he'd help you out.
Joining a club is another good way to learn. There are 3D shoots almost every weekend in the warmer months. It gives you the chance to shoot at different locations with different groups of people and you'll learn way more doing that than at set distances in a gym.

I can give you free lessons on "how to shoot and miss a target" and "arrow retrieving 101".
I have mastered those skills.

I was talking to Phil tonight and told him I had mentioned to yuo about giving him a call. He said no problem he has a target out behing the archery shop and frequently gives lessons pending on weather.
Do you need his contact info?
