I thought it would be good for people to know this as it was brought ot my attention today . I am a collector of antlers as well as moose sheds and such and I just found out that there are laws regarding to such ,as of when the moose were listed as "endangered species". I called Bible Hill DNR and spoke with Jim McNaughton and he said that if you acquire moose antlers and sheds or any product pertaining to "MAINLAND MOOSE" you have to pass it in to DNR as you are not allowed to possess it . But anything that was obtained before the mainland moose was "endangered" is perfectly legal. He says that mine were no question were acquired before that time and they were no questions to be answered. I also called Oxford DNR and spoke with Don Rushton on this matter . He says that any sheds or antlers that come with paper trail are also legal . But if you were to find new sheds and such they are to be passed in to DNR . So both stories are mostly the same . We found a moose shed this fall and I told him about it and he told me that I did not have too pass this one in but the next one to be sure and stop by and get a picture taken with them but I would have to pass them in .. To me thats Fair enough !! Here is the link for the ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT where you will see in section 13 1(A) it explains that www.gov.ns.ca/legislature/legc/bills/57th_1st/3rd_read/b065.htm
