FOR BROADCAST USE:
More than 61-hundred additional licences are up for
grabs in this year's antlerless deer hunting draw, bringing the
total licences to 11-thousand, 900.
Natural Resources Minister David Morse says deer numbers
have increased significantly throughout the province as a result
of three very mild winters.
Beginning at 7 a.m. on Saturday (July 19th), hunters can
apply for a license to hunt antlerless deer this fall in Nova
Scotia. Licences are being offered in four of the eight deer
management zones.
Applications will be accepted by calling 1-900-565-deer. Six
dollars and ninety cents will be charged to the telephone bill of
the phone being used.
The phone line will be open until midnight, August 29th.
Successful applicants will be notified by mail.
