Hey KPR :
Ya can post that pic I sent you if ya want . ( if ya still have it ). I haven't taken the time to learn that yet...although I've seen your instructions a thousand times. I guess I best soon get at it huh !
I'll have to take a drive soon and get some Snaps . The wife gets tired of me slowin' down all the time to look at the deer...." Yeh , yeh , yeh ,deer , big deal , just drive " is usually the conversation driving into Town 3 minutes away.

holly crap KPR , I've been to a lot of 3D shoots and thats the most realistic looking target I've ever seen. I'm coming over to your place to practice I would have placed it so it was a little more broad side or quartering away instead of quartering to, but thats just me. ;D

This is the kind of crap ya gotta put up with when your tryin' in practice in Zone 2A , Pointy. The target is set at 20 yards from the back step. Better yet I have a 2nd floor balcony off the bedroom that I practice my elevated shooting from . There are 5 does & yearlings that call my backyard home. The wife is talking about planting , she kills me ...ha ha ha ha ha.

Hey Pointy :
Yeh I know , not my choice of colours either , but we're renting and just haven't got around to it just yet. The good news is it's 4 1/2 ' deep with cathedral ceiling & no holes .....we got indoor plumbing last week !
Just need to practice sitting down and you should be fine. Noticed today that one of the little buggers has some nubs growin'. Oh just so that you know....from the sh** house (as we call it) to that little island of apple trees is about 35 yards . And that scrawny little tree just in behind has the bark rubbed off it from past visitors. Found a small 3 point shed under one of the other small trees in the field as well. Don't mean to be a tease ...just thought you should know !
Pointy....I'm looking at my trusty ole Martin Hunter sittin in the corner and I'm seriouly thinking of dustin' her off this year. Love my Hoyt compound but got alot of fun outta shootin Trad. Was a member down at Kings Archers when I lived in the Valley.....Had a lot of laughs shooting with Ronnie ( Jed ) , Billy , Mike , Greg , Joe...the good ole day

I was down that was yesterday with my daughters school trip to New Ross.
Started a conversation about show shoes which turned into a discussion about ash and making arrows and bows. From there it moved (steered by me) into the deer population in 2A and some of what might be coming around for this fall and next. We discussed crossbows, hunting opportunities, foreign land ownership. Very nice fellow would like to try a crossbow someday, but truly believes they a a distinct weapon and should be treated as such.
One of his main points was that there are many residents in the 2A area who do not hunt but are getting very tired of having to put fences up around their yards to protect the gardens and plants. He used words such as "pest" and "out of hand" and "something has got to be done soon" so we started to talk about one of the things BANS would like to see done and are trying to open the doors to. He was extremely excited about some of the ideas and possibilities I explained to him. He though an "urban hunt" such as done in Irwin NY was an excellent idea. He even went as far as to say " as long as you don't let the Government get involved and screw things up" it's probably one of the best ideas he's heard down that way yet.
There just might be some public support to be had down there after all, heres hoping.

Well momma was talking to her mother yesterday... A friend of hers lives down that way somewhere and are very "fond" of all the deer but....he got bitten by a tick and apparently has contracted Lymes disease. Had enough fever to send him to Dr's and now he's on a regimen of antibiotics. This of course passed through several people mind you Wonder if this may change his view of the deer? PS great of your chaperoning on the trip, but ya know?...other parents hear ya talking killin and all that might just get ya barred from taking those ...lol Traumatizing those poor kids...jeeesh... I can hear it now,kid wakes up screaming middle of night...mother arrives... "that big tall man is gonna stick as many Bambi's as he can this year!!!" Mom says ..."NAMES I WANT NAMES!!!" LMAO!!!

LOL don't worry KPR I don't get into that stuff with witnesses. It was just he and I in the woodshop at the time.
That being said, one of the other adults made mention of the fact that the farmer shouldn't tell the children that the animals were for consumption purposes. It might up set the children....
Imagine a 700 lb pig not of anything other than to eat? Even the framer looked at her as if she had 3 heads and 16 eyes.
I was so happy when my daughter and several of the other children piped up and asked what else were they good for LOL
God bless the little darlings.

one of the other adults made mention of the fact that the farmer shouldn't tell the children that the animals were for consumption purposes. It might up set the children.... Well didn't you know....? They grafted a few "experimental trees" down here lastyear. Yep...Larsens sponsored the project... Pork chop Big Mac.. not to be confused with Dwarf Mac or Normal Mac My favourite ;D...Srlion tip and Deli meat surprise... ;D They are having a bit of prob introducing it in schools though cause some hippie in the seventies published that plants/trees have feelings,so now they are not quite sure how to explain that to the kiddies without upsetting them. Out of the mouths of babes.. kudos to your daughter for callin' em on it...lol They don't miss much and it makes ya wonder who is smarter when a parent figures they can hide something.

Yeh guys the deer ticks are another issue as well down here. I've know of several people down here who have gotten the little red bullseye and then go on the antibiotics.
Every hunting season DNR set up a tent at the Irving in Lunenburg and inspect the deer for tick infestation (Voluntary process ) and accummulate data on where the deer are harvested along with general info on size , health , abnormalities etc. They also did this when I harvested one in June 2005 with the Pathfinder (on my way back from JD's when I brought my new bow home ) . I wanted to keep the meat so they came to the house and checked it out . Good news is I didn't loose an ounce of meat off the little fella . Hitting deer is a" Rite of Passage" here.

Sent an email this week to DNR to ask if they have made any of the porposed changes for this comong year. I have not as yet recieved an answer, but I imagine they either would have to, or will have to soon make thier game plan final. the Handbooks have to go to for print soon and be ready for distibution in July when the bear hunters start baiting.
If I hear anything I'll keep you guys posted.
