What exactly does this mean? Do you have to be an AANS member or is it just different rules for scoring?
and what are all the equipment criteria for shooting Primative class?
Is there a list or guide book of all the different shooting rules and classes??

See if I can sum this up. A sanctioned shoot is one which is, for lack of a better way to say it, a competitive shoot. The shoot is held under the guidelines of the FCA and AANS. The scores a turned over to AANS so that your Provincial ranking can be established. An archer must shoot in at least 3 (I think) sanctioned shoot during the season to be eligible to shoot the Provincials. The Top Dogs at the provincials go on to the Regionals and then the Nationals.
Now as for rules, there are many and they are supposed to be followed. Most are for the compound classes of which I can't tell you how many of those there are (TOO MANY). If your going to shoot Privative I think all you need to have is a selfbow and wood arrows. Minimum tip weight is 125grn I believe.
No you do not have to be an AANS member to shoot at one of these events but you could be placed in a GUEST class and NOT be eligible for any prizes given out. This is up to the host club I think. AANS would have the rules for a sanctioned shoot If you go to their web site you might find them if not sing up to their FORUMS and ask your question there and someone will give you the correct answer. HW might know the answers also as he is the official AANS Judge for St Mary's .
Hope this helped some

I found the IBO /Federation rules and yep!, theres lots of compound stuff, but LB seems pretty straight fwd. length, weight, ammo. etc, and HW said my self bows fall into the Ptrimitve catagory just cant find any rules specific to primative unless it's called something other than Primative -officially? Dont want to compete just was wondering if non AANS can still go to sanctioned for fun, and looks like we can after talking to a few people, some said that a small drop in fee might me charged for insurance but if we belong to a club or organisation that is affiliated with AANS we should be covered right??
