Ok so I've talked to the land owner and he said it ok by him. I know that there is not much big wood left standing on his land so,what should a fellow be looking for to pick the rite place to build a blind? I've been told that there are good chance of seeing bears on the land in the fall and that there were lots of deer up there before the big storm. Not sure I would want to try a bear from a ground blind but the deer are sure gong to have to be careful . I'm thinking that a high spot with about 180 deg of clean sweep and some sort of trail to go with it .sound good so far, help me out here guys.

"what should a fellow be looking for to pick the rite place to build a blind?" While i am far from an expert, I think a big factor in locating a ground blind is natural cover & natural funnels. And 180 deg field of view is more than i can manage, as in, if i can see that much, then i am too exposed & will likely be busted before i get an opportunity, but i am a bit fidgity & have trouble remaining perfectly still, so i 'back into' natural alleys overlooking trails. Remaining concealed is 'almost' as important as being where the deer are.

I'm thinking that if I can get situated up on a hill then I maybe able to get a wide angle of view. As I said there are very little trees standing as it has been harvested because of the big storm. There are lot of new shoots growing so there should be good food sources .

The key is not being seen yourself. A good field of view is great if you are only trying to see deer, but can get you busted by deer you have never laid eyes on, cause they saw you first. BUT... since one blind, stand or spot should only be used a couple of times each season, having many, with different advantages or features can only open up your options.
