This weekend is the BANS Bangup - Come and enjoy a shoot where the goal is to have some good safe fun, on targets set up in hunting situations.
This year's course of twenty targets is as different as we can make it and has some challenging shots for all experience levels. The path is drying, but as always, boots are suggested over sneakers, etc.
Food will be available, but as there is no water at the club, bring your own. There is lots of camping space available.
We have the steel deer fund raiser shoot and a novelty event as well.
There will be 2 classes for compound shooters -
one will be for those with movable sight and the other for those with fixed sights - there will be m/f and kids categories
There will also be a longbow, recurve and primitive class with kids and male/female categories.
Remember it is a fun shoot and a pre-tuneup for hunting season (no broadheads, of course)

The cost is 25 dollars to shoot both days, 15 for one, for adults - kids are 5 dollars a day.
The menu and cost is still being finalized , but there will be chili, hot dogs, etc with a continental style breakfast. They last meal we had, you got chili, 2 hotdogs and a pop or water for 5 dollars. hot dogs were a dollar each and chili alone was 2 bucks.
A lot of folks that camp, make their own meals.

BMHank - would be great to meet you ! Find to old #2 highway between Brookfield and Truro, in Hilden there is a flashing yellow light hung over the middle of the road. At this intersection, turn at the Irwin Lake Road and drive up the hill, under the 102 and keep going. The road will turn to gravel and we are about 2 km past that. Bring you bow if you get there in the early evening.

Thanks to every one for attending the BANS Bangup at St Mary's! The weather was WARM and humid, but the deeer co-operated on Sunday and strolled across the adjacent field prior to the shoot.
It was great to see some old and new faces, especially some of the older faces that had not been seen at a shoot for a while.
Special thanks to The Brookfield Elks Sportmen's Draw (formerly Known as the Brookfield Elks Big Game Hunt. Only the name has changed, it is the same format, and group running the fund raiser), the 3D Association of Nova Scotia, Hnatiuks' Taxidermy and the other folks who donated prizes for the table.

The weather could not have been better, and all feed back I have heard has been positive. I got the surprise of my weekend when my 6 year old shot two 10's and then a miss, tieing him for second and only missing first place by 1 point for the grand champion of the weekend. As proud of him as I am, I'm glad he dosen't understand how close he was to having "BIG" bragging rights for the next year. I never would have lived that one down. ;D ;D

bearman I don't think they'll allow you to play baseball with your bow ,....... something about those quick throws to first. Sorry you couldn't make it but there will be others.
