Go To the AANS site and ask about lessons and courses there. If you want to hunt here in Nova Scotia at your age I think you might need an adult or guardian to be with you . You can check with DNR about that.Winter is not a good time really to practice unless you have land or permission to shoot on land . The only club that shoots indoors I believe is the CFB Halifax club. The nearest club out doors to you would be SCotian Bowmen but they dont get going until spring. Remember you have to walk before you can run. So check out the AANS site and also the N.S. HUnting .com site there are lots of people there that can help you or provide you with some help shooting. Go to the N.S. D.N.R. site for rules and regs about hunting and age limits. Keep posting and there will be some members who will post here to maybe set you up with some shooting.HUnting is just about over except for Coyotes and I dont think you are ready for those fellows yet.You have all year to practice and get ready for next season.

the minimum age for small game hunting is 12 years. This requires a nowhunter saftey course. It's a 2 day course (or at least use to be). Unlike most courses this one's pretty interesting. Here in NS we have a great bunch on instructors. You can go to DNR, Waverly depot if you are in Sackville, and put your name on the list to be called for the course....
To hunt, when 12 years ols, you will need an adult with you. You must be 16 to hunt small game on your own and 18 to hunt big game on your own (16 with an adult).
Good luck and keep us posted.

The Musquodoboit Harbour Archers also shoot indoors all year, but that might be a bit of a drive every Monday.

How is your shooting, Biggame? Have you been to a range?
We are working at having the min. hunting age lowered to 10. This should let quite a few young people to take the course with their older brothers.
Don't forget to send in your application for the Bowhunting course, as soon as possible.

That's good Biggame. Have you had any instructions? Proper practice is the key. Keep at it.
